THE REVEREND WILLIAM R. KRIZNER, Pastor, St. Colette Parish, Brunswick, age 74, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 after having received the prayerful support and consolation of the Sacraments. William R. Krizner was born on March 20, 1949. His parents were the late William J. and Jennie (nee Piccolomini); loving brother of Denise Kronholz (Dr. Tom); dearest uncle of Dr. Melissa Kronholz Steiner (Tim), Thomas Kronholz and Brandon Kronholz (Sara); great-uncle of Jennifer, Audrey, Nicholas, Anthony and Vincent; cousin and dear friend of many. He was educated at St. Catherine Elementary School, Cleveland, Benedictine High School, Cleveland, Borromeo College, Wickliffe and Saint Mary Seminary, Cleveland. On June 9, 1979, in the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, Bishop James A. Hickey ordained him to the priesthood for the service of the Diocese of Cleveland. Father Krizner’s first assignment was Parochial Vicar of St. Columbkille, Parma. On June 27, 1985 he was appointed Chaplain of Holy Name High School, Parma Heights. On February 21, 2007, Fr. Krizner was named Pastor of St. Colette, Brunswick. Fr. Krizner was dedicated to bringing young people to the faith. He will be remembered for his creative ways of taking the deep truth of our Catholic faith and touching the lives of many through his preaching and teaching. He was exceptional at ministering to young people, especially during his 22 years at Holy Name High School, where he helped young men and women mature in discipleship. He will be greatly missed by many. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Andrew’s Abbey www.standrewabbey.org . The wake will begin on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at St. Colette Church, 330 West 130 th St., Brunswick at 3 p.m. with Vespers and will continue until 7:00 p.m. Bishop Martin Amos will be the presider and Abbot Gary Hoover will be the homilist. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in St. Colette Church, at 11 a.m. Bishop Michael Woost will be the main celebrant and Father Damian Ference will be the homilist.
