RICHARD D. FREDECKER, JR.; age 72; of Hilton Head Island, formerly of Columbus, OH. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 surrounded by his family and friends. Awesome father of Bethany Fredecker; lifelong companion of Donna Madliner; beloved son of the late Richard and Catherine (nee Makoid); devoted brother of Linda Jackson (Jim), David Fredecker (Jeannie) and Karen Bearns (Jim); fun loving uncle of Patrick Monnolly (Jessica), Kelli Thiel (Austin), Christopher Bearns, Nicholas Bearns (Whitley), Cameron Fredecker and Alex Fredecker; great uncle of Kollin, Reagan, Zooey, Ainsley and Connor. Contributions may be made to Pockets Full of Sunshine, www.pocketsfullofsun.org. Rick was a proud graduate of Padua Franciscan High School and BGSU. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and the Commandant of the Long Cove Architectural Review Board (ARB). Also, a longtime suffering Browns and Indians fan and gracious Buckeye fan. Rick is headed to his final resting place with the first dollar he ever made.
