Serge Abdulkarim Elias

SERGE ABDULKARIM ELIAS, age 68 passed away peacefully on Sunday June 16, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Lilian Elias; beloved father of Abdulkarim Elias (Carolyn); adoring grandfather of Sergio and Anastasia; cherished brother of Nadeem Elias and Eli Elias (deceased) and was an uncle, cousin and dear friend to many. Serge graduated from Hadat High School in Beirut, Lebanon and served in the Lebanese Army. Emigrating to the U.S. and settling in Cleveland, he graduated from Cleveland State University with a master’s degree in business administration. Serge also worked for Polaroid and lived in Germany for many years, during which he traveled the world with his wife Lilian and his son Abdu, which also brought him to a position as V.P. of Sales at Al Ajoo in Saudi Arabia. In 1995, Serge and Lilian founded Cedarland Mediterranean Cuisine, which they operated alongside their son Abdu. Serge was a man of deep faith, serving as a Sub-Deacon at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church and St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Serge was a kind and beautiful soul, passionate and moving cantor, dedicated entrepreneur and father, and proud grandfather (Jiddo). Serge met his granddaughter Anastasia (born 6/12/24) and was adored by his grandson Sergio, named in his honor. He will be deeply missed. A visitation for Serge will be held on Friday June 21, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at St. Matthew the Evangelist Antiochian Orthodox Church, 10383 Albion Rd., North Royalton, OH 44133, with funeral services immediately to follow in the Church. After the service, a meal will take place in the Hall at the Church until 6:30pm. Serge will be laid to rest in Lebanon.
