STEVEN JAMES DAMAS, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Beloved husband, best friend and love of his life, Deborah (nee Wiencek) for 52 years; loving father of Denise Daunt (Richard), Joseph Damas (Brooklyn) and Andrew Damas (Sharon); dearest grandfather of Reagan Damas, Brendan Daunt, David Daunt, Carter Damas, Austin Damas and Sasha Damas; son of Harold and Virginia (nee Iadisernia) (both deceased); brother of Julie Leciejewski (deceased), Randy Damas (Debi) and Leslie Chopra; uncle of James, Scott, Stephanie and Michael; dear friend of many. Steve was a retired journeyman welder for General Motors-Parma, Fisher Body and Terex. He was a proud union member and former Vice President of Local 1005 and a lifetime member of the American Welding Society. He also taught welding at Tri-C and was a lifelong member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish. Steve was a 1966 graduate of St. Charles, 1970 graduate of Valley Forge High School and a 1978 graduate of Kent State University. Steve will be remembered for his integrity, his compassion, and the deep love he carried out for his family, friends, and community. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 5891 Ridge Rd., Parma, Saturday March 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. Please meet at church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends received at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), FRIDAY, MARCH 27, 2026 from 2-7 P.M.
