Sylvester Thomas Orges

SYLVESTER THOMAS ORGES, age 91 of Cleveland (Parma), Ohio died Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Parma Community Hospital.

Sylvester was born on December 9, 1933 to Jacob and Agnes (Krysiak) Orges in Madera, PA.  He relocated after marriage to Parma, Ohio and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church at the time of his passing.  Sylvester spent over three decades as a Quality Control Engineer for General Motors retiring in the mid-1980s.  He then went on to start a company related to plastic injection molding as he was not one to slow down or by idle.

Sylvester married Helen Kowalcyk of Madera, PA on June 18, 1955.  They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary.  He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers:  Joseph, Emmanuel, Anthony, Francis, Hubert, Stanley, Edmond and Edward and five sisters:  Agnes Rusnak, Victoria Zurilla, Millie Lash, Helen Stone and Stella Orges.

He is survived by his wife Helen and three children David Orges (Cathy), Richard Orges (Lisa) and Cheryl Joseph (Chris).  He was the grandfather of three Jeremy (Alyssa), Justin and Lyndsey Orges and a new great granddaughter Hazel Penelope Orges.

Sylvester liked to bowl, work in his yard, and feed all the little critters and birds that resided there. Besides his family, his greatest joy was cars.  He reminisced often about the ones he owned, the ones he liked and those he wished he could have owned.  His sense of humor was enlightening; over the few months he was in and out of nursing facilities.  Everyone loved him as he was always joking and hanging at the nurse’s station talking when he was able.
