THOMAS E. TOMSIK, age 88; beloved husband of the late Esther M. (nee Mitchell) for 62 years; loving father of Denise Bobulsky (Rich) and Tom “Michael” Tomsik; dearest grandfather of Alyson Bobulsky (Greg Cortese), Devon Climer (Sam), Peter Bobulsky (Nina), Hanna and Mitchell Tomsik; great-grandfather of Miles Climer; son of the late Matthew and Margaret (nee Pastercic); brother of Donald (Dorothy) and Leonard (Laura); brother-in-law of James Mitchell (deceased) (Diana) and Jerry Mitchell (Marilyn); uncle and dear friend of many. Tom was a notable Cleveland architect, having architectural licenses in Ohio, Florida, West Virginia and NCARB. He was a member and past president of A.I.A. Cleveland chapter.  A detail-oriented architect, his design work included many churches, schools, gymnasiums, sports facilities, apartments, nursing homes, offices and more. His design of the Berea Commons Towne Center, for his longtime friend Frank Crisafi, developer, earned recognition as a HUD Urban Renewal project. His designs included the Holy Family Chapel and school addition, Holy Spirit Church (Avon Lake), St. Christopher Parish expansion, St. Barnabas Church, St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church addition, Normandy High School, St. Ignatius Murphy Field House, St. Ignatius science lab and atrium, projects at Cleveland State, Kent State, Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland Public Schools.  With his son he designed the St. Edward Chapel and Pre-engineering building.  He served on many non-profit boards and was a school board member in the city of Brooklyn and a friend and volunteer at St. Augustine Church in Tremont.  Tom was a mentor to many young aspiring architects, including his son.  He was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School and Case Western Reserve University. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ignatius High School Scholarship Fund www.ignatius.edu/give. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church, 7367 York Rd., Parma, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Spirit Cemetery.  Friends received at RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), FRIDAY 3-7 P.M. Social distancing and masks required.
