VIRGINIA TELISCHAK (nee Pavola), 97 years young, passed away on May 27, 2021 with her family by her side.  Virginia was the beloved wife of the late Michael Telischak; loving mother of Don Telischak and Karen Arth (Rob); adored grandmother of Kali Potopsky; middle sister of Stella Luciow and Dolores Thompson (both deceased); caring Aunt and dear friend of many. Virginia enjoyed life to the fullest and was always up for an adventure and ice cream. Friends and family are invited to her funeral service at the funeral home, Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 10 a.m. Interment St. Theodosius Cemetery.  Friends received at RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), FRIDAY 4-8 P.M.

Virginia was born at City Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio on July 20, 1923. While she was a senior, she worked at Von’s 5 & 10.  Virginia graduated from Lincoln High School on June 19, 1942.  After graduation, she worked for the Cleveland Ordinance District for two years.  On September 21, 1946, she married the love of her life, Mike Telischak, at Saint Theodosius Orthodox-Catholic Church.  Virginia then worked for War Assets Administration and the Internal Revenue Service from 1946-1956.  In December of 1956, Virginia gave birth to her son, Don.  Six years later, March of 1962, her husband passed away at the young age of 39.  At the time of Mike’s passing, Virginia was three months pregnant with her daughter, Karen, who was born in September of 1962.  Virginia spent all her time with her children.  She was den mother for Don’s Cub Scout troop and she had her children in many activities.  Virginia went back to work at the IRS in 1964 and retired in 1986.  In 1994, Virginia became a grandmother to her only grandchild, Kali, (Kae lee).  Virginia adored Kali and helped take care of her Karen was working.  In 2007, Virginia moved in with Karen, son-in-law, Rob, and Kali, where they were all blessed to have three generations under one roof.

She was a resident of the City of North Royalton from 1946 - 2007.  She belonged to St. Albert the Great Church, the North Royalton Garden Club and Senior Center.  Virginia was also a member of the Strongsville Senior Center and attended many holiday events with her side kick, Nancy.  Virginia’s favorite hobby was flower arranging and she loved to give her creations to her family and friends.  She also enjoyed going on bus trips, boating and Rving.

Virginia was a member of St. Albert the Great Church since 1994.  Although, she no longer could attend mass, she still had a deep devotion to her faith.

She loved her family and friends and she had a zest for life.  Since her passing, people have shared memories and tributes to her.  Virginia was everyone’s Nani.  She was said to have and such an infectious smile and was always upbeat and cheerful.  She also was described as a wonderful and kind person who loved to laugh and have a good time.  Virginia was also known for her love of ice cream, chocolate, cookies, high balls and chocolate martinis!  We and she were all blessed with all the togetherness we had and all the memories we shared.

Virginia would like thank say a special thank you to; Anita for making her beautiful for 40 years, Holly for taking her on Thursdays to the Hair Salon and being her lunch buddy; Rob for including her on family adventures and always making sure, there was ice cream, chocolate and cookies in the house; Kali, for taking her to doctor appointments, the nail salon, being her tech support for her I-phone and Kindle and for being there as she embarked on her finally journey;  Don, for being her vitamin expert and, Karen, for sharing her life with her.   She would also like to thank everyone for being here today to support the family and for being a part of her life’s journey.  She loved you all!  Memory Eternal.
