William J. Check, Jr.

WILLIAM J. CHECK, JR., age 43; of Fairview Park, Ohio. Passed away on December 4, 2023. Born on June 4, 1980, in Westlake, Ohio, William was a beloved son of William J. Check, Sr. and Frances E. Check (maiden name Coles). He was also the loving stepson of Cynthia Pordon. William was a devoted brother to Ellen M. Musarra (maiden name Check) (Ray) and a proud dog dad to Coleman, and special friend of many.

A talented tradesman, William had an impressive career. After graduating from Westlake High School, he pursued vocational training and became a union master in tool and die. He then transitioned to become an Ironworker and later excelled as a Welder, Fabricator, and Millwright at Cleveland Cliffs Steel Mill.

Outside of work, William had a kind personality and a caring heart. He was an Eagle Scout and took great pride in his accomplishments. He had a passion for metal music, tattoos, and animals. In his free time, he enjoyed helping others, tinkering around his yard and garage, riding his motorcycle, and embarking on adventures with his dog.

A gathering to honor William's life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The family requests casual attire.
