WILLIAM L. MURPHY, age 86; of Parma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Kouba) for 60 years; loving and devoted father of Michael (Janene), Erin and Patricia; dearest grandfather of four granddaughters, Caitlin, Meghan, Lindsey and Nora; son of the late William and Lois. Murph was a proud graduate of St. Ignatius High School, Bowling Green State University, Case Western Reserve (M.Ed) and Cleveland Marshall Law School. He was a baseball player at St. Ignatius and Bowling Green where he was the captain of the team in 1962. He met his wife Joyce while they were teaching at Newton D. Baker Junior High School. They were married November 19, 1965 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2025. He was a teacher, assistant principal and coach for 8 years before pursuing a law degree. He worked as a lawyer at the Ohio Attorney General’s Office in Columbus and then became General Counsel for Cuyahoga Community College where he worked for 25 years. He was active in the Parma Softball Premier League, the Huff N Puffers and Superstars and multiple golf leagues. He never missed an athletic event for his children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to St. Ignatius General Scholarship Fund, 1911 W. 30th St., Cleveland, OH 44113. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church, 7367 York Rd., Parma, Monday, April 13, 2026 at 10 a.m. Please meet at church. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
