DR. ARTHUR J. CALIGUIRE, age 86; most remarkable husband of Renate (nee Valten) for 51 years; dedicated father of Desiree Caliguire-Maier and Nadine Caliguire-Stephens (Mark); compassionate grandfather “Nonno” of Maximilian Caliguire-Maier, Claudia, Gabriel, Ella and Connor Stephens; son of the late John and Carmella (nee Rende); brother of Augustine (deceased) (Grace) and Gloria Scarselli (Sergio) (both deceased); dearest uncle of Gino Scarselli, Maria “Mia” Jackson, Elisa Kazek, Daria Caliguire, Gian Scarselli, Moira O’Riordan and Marisa Caliguire. Dr. Caliguire was an administrator of the NATO Defense Schools under President John F. Kennedy and was in charge of the office of the Cleveland Public Schools and the Cleveland Catholic Diocese. Arthur also started the first African American exchange program for students in Ohio. He will be greatly missed by many.
