GEORGE M. MALOOF, age 99; beloved husband of the late Nora (nee Macron) for 71 years; devoted father of William Hycal Maloof (Angela), Virginia Marie Cascarilla (Ralph), Theresa Julia Kratus, Faye Judith Maloof (Peter Comodeca, deceased) and Kimberly Grace Haikal (Samir); loving grandfather of Heather Donovan, Bradley Maloof, Charles Cascarilla, Patrick Kratus, Jared Maloof, Hilarie Hionis, Dr. Elizabeth van der Oord, Kathleen Kratus Small, Jennifer Kratus Wamelink, Grace Cascarilla, Kelly Kratus Nelson, Laura Haikal, Mary Nora Wolf, Ann-Elise Haikal, William Wolf, Matthew Haikal (deceased), Sophia Maloof, Marie Haikal and Simon Maloof; great-grandfather of 23; son of the late Michael and Fanny (nee Aftoora); brother of Edna Bryan (deceased), Daniel Maloof (deceased) and Agnes Began; beloved uncle of Julie Anter Blazevic and many other nieces and nephews; lovingly cared for by Lola Lopez, Eileen Canella, Darlene Neudenbach (deceased), Janina Gozdek, Jozef Palko, Leon and Teresa Kieczka, Donna Glancy, Grace Fayen and Aggie McLaughlin. George was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran, served in the Pacific as a pilot and flight engineer. He was an attorney, a distinguished member of the Greater Cleveland business community. George was one of the original founding members of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (ALSAC) established by Danny Thomas in 1957. George and his wife Nora were lifelong parishioners of St. Elias Melkite Catholic Church. The family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or St. Elias Church. Funeral Service at St. Elias Church, 8023 Memphis Ave., Brooklyn, Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. Please meet at church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
