Gloria Kathryn (Horvath) Ashworth, long-time resident of Brooklyn Heights, OH, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026 after a brief illness.

Daughter of the late Anthony and Kathryn (Palcisko) Horvath, she was born in Cleveland, OH on March 20, 1940.

A graduate of the all-female trade school Jane Addams High School in the late 1950s, she was a lifelong hairdresser, initially at Della’s House of Beauty (Old Brooklyn, OH) and later, independently.

Gloria’s deep faith in God manifested in her care for others, love for nature, and unflinching patriotism. An avid traveler, she visited six of the seven continents during her life which often included holy places, shrines, and pilgrimage locations. She was a great cook known for her chicken paprikash and koláče. She’ll be remembered for her kindness, good nature, and loving smile. Above all, she truly adored and took interest in others and in spending time with her loved ones.

Gloria is lovingly remembered by her four children and their spouses: Robert Ashworth of Olmsted Falls, OH, Kathleen & John Kostyo of Vermillion, OH, SuzAnne and Thomas Wilson of North Royalton, OH, and Lance & Cynthia Ashworth or Fishkill, NY; her grandchildren: Robert Bliss, Seth Bastic, John Bastic, Rebecca Noah, Danielle Ashworth & her fiancé Alec Gerson, Julia Ashworth, Lindsey Morgan & husband Sam, and Tanner Wilson & his fiancée Megan Daniel. She was predeceased by her parents, former husband Ronald Ashworth, and brother Anthony P. Horvath.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Gloria to the Sisters of Notre Dame of the United States (SND USA), 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon, OH 44024 or at https://sndusa.org/donate/.
